Finally, I've managed to create a surround DVD-A and even using the default SPEC settings it sounds astonishingly good with individual instruments coming from the rear speakers. Now to mastering SPEC...
The only thing I found which maybe differs from the published method is that I unchecked 'Enable multiformat input' and the options for VIDEO_TS and the DVD-Video zone.
Yet another question: Is there a media player which can handle non-MLP AOB? It would be useful to be able to prove the AOBs before I burn them to disk. VLC gives the impression that it can play AOB but outputs only silence. Considering that VLC and Winamp can play the multi-channel WAVs, surely all that's required is a codec which can remove the AOB wrapper?
*edit* VLC 1.1.0 (only available from nightly builds currently) has support for AOB and indeed they do play albeit really badly - they are very distorted. Will investigate further.
