Board newbie so please forgive any bad etiquette.

Briefly: I’ve successfully burned two DVD-A discs of 24-bit flacs downloaded from Society Of Sound.

BUT . . .

I’m having a nightmare burning some home-brew wav files recorded in Audacity – 2ch 24-bit @ 66150 but total file size well under 3GB.
DVDA-Author (9.02) is consistently exporting the first 4 files to c:\users\admin…\output\Audio_TS and then crashing.
I’m using a batch file rather than the GUI as DVDA-Author seems unwilling to accept that I want to write any ISO file. The program itself also seems to have trouble understanding --veryverbose or --no-output (or indeed --nooutput). I’ve used the --W setting and it doesn’t make any difference. I’ve uninstalled dvda-author, c-cleaned and re-installed a couple of times.
In case it’s an OS/SW issue, my PC runs Windows 7 with
1) Chrome and Firefox for browsing;
2) Avast free edition and MalwareBytes for security and
3) Audacity, GrooveMechanic and MediaMonkey for music recording/playback.
The DVD drive is a Sony.

Any suggestions please?

Hopefully others will chime in but my impression is people mainly used discWelder CHROME for DVD-a authoring but a more up to date method would be DTS-HD MA encoding and audiomuxer to make AVCHD or BlueRay audio only discs.

Yes, DTS-HD MA is not MLP but it is supposed to be lossless quality, and the results would be more future proof than DVD-A.

I always used Chrome for DVDA, but I haven't made any DVDA for years as I prefer DTS-HD.
I have to agree that using DTS-HD MA & Audiomuxer to make for example an MKV is my preferred method.
That doesn't help you, I know, but I have no experience with DVDA Author.

also never used DVDA Author - if the ISO is tripping it up - then create the folder structure and use IMGBURN to make and burn the ISO

I have DVD-Author and have tried to use it a couple of times, but it is seems so much more complicated than Cirlinca's Audio Solo programs or Disc Welder that I never made it through a project with it. (I'm sure I could if I studied it a bit more...but why?) Disc Welder works fine but adding the artwork in that program is always a challenge to make it come out the way I intend. Audio Muxer is so much easier and DTS-MA has the same quality as DVD-A (both lossless) and getting the onscreen artwork proportions correct is simple.

Hopefully someone with experience using DVD-Author can comment on your problem.

I am sorry but I just don't know this tool - as far as I am aware it is a sourceforge project based on reverse engineered commercial discs.
Chrome is okay but very buggy and the abstraction layer boxes you into a corner.
We use the Sonic/MEI tool and it is incredibly stable and very reliable too. Steep learning curve but worthwhile.
