Greetings! I have been into "psychoacoustics" since I was a kid in headphones slapping the "Balance" control to its stops.
OK, seriously, I have recently heard some original 1970's Quad, in true Quad, which brought me more appreciation for the whole "surround sound" thing With that, I understand that music made for 4 channels is not the same as "movie soundtrack music".
But now, with 6 discrete channels to play with... Imagine my own old binaural sound mixes that are stereo, and my current ideas to sync up 3 two channel recorders (OK, I am spam). Then, the fun of post-processing and tweaking!
So anyone here using Ubuntu Linux? Any Audacity 1.3.x fanatics? With that, What about open source and proprietary encodings to get the "bits onto polycarbonate"? Any other open source or proprietary Linux applications to look into? What about media players? I have stuck with the Iaudio X5 for it's FLAC capability. I wonder if there is anyway to get more than 2 channels out of it...
Thanks! MRK
