Hi everyone, who want to start with making of DVD-A, I would recoment this program: <http://www.cirlinca.com/download.htm> Start with "DVD-Audio Solo Standard", it´s not to difficult to use. The advantage is, - you have (a simple) menu for navigation and - you can insert background-pictures. - there is a trial-version and at least, it´s not so expensiv (opposite to "discwelder chrome"). The disadvantage is, - you can NOT import .mlp - Streams (with all the consequences of bit-rate and -depth). But it´s able to import 5.1 multicannel-files (I tried .wav) and has an own burning-engine. It´s a bit better than the freeware (dvda-author) in my opinion. It´s worth to try.... -razi- |

Ok, please do not romp all over me here. I am a boring math and logic guy who just happens to be an audiophile. I know nothing at all about what you guys do but am ready and willing to learn. I just downloaded Diskwelder and wanted to play with it to see if this is possible, and herein lies my question: "Is it possible to take Rolling Stones Gimme Shelter, for example, and remix it for 5.1 surround sound? If so, what is the best (easiest and most efficient) software you can recommend. See I did not disappoint. It is indeed a Stupid Question! Thanks, IncurableGeek |

I just love answers that confuse me. That's how I learn. Re: "You can't "re-mix", as in put the guitar over there and the snare drum over there, etc. but you can use the placement of instruments and vocals in the stereo and distribute them across 5.1 channels. We call that "converting" or "upmixing"." How is that different from what my 5.1 Sony Amp does in "allocating" to 2 Klipsch floor standing speakers, Klipsch sub and 2 large Sony bookshelf speakers? Damn, I'm sorry to take your time on this IG Footnote (added late): Diskwelder is 32 bit and therefore not fully functional on Win 7 64 bit. Another choice possible. Oh, and Thanks Z. It's people like you that make the net both fun and educational. |
