Greets to all. New to this forum. I have a media computer playing thru my denon via HDMI,then to my TV. I have a couple of my movies on it. When I play a movie with DTS the sound is very bad. Distorted, etc. Now dolby plays fine . Dts plays fine thru my BR player too. I use vlc player most times, and media player classic. Windows 7 /64 bit. 1 Gig ATI 5450 video card. 8 gigs of ram. Anyone have ideas or perhaps a fix ? TIA for any advice . Steve |

Does the distortion happen both for VLC and Windows Media Player? VLC is going to decode the DTS and send LPCM to your HT. I have no idea what windows media player would with DTS but it is typically very difficult to get anything Microsoft to bitstream properly, which is what you need if you want your HT to do the DTS decoding. A windows player known to bitstream DTS correctly (or decode and pass LPCM correctly) including DTS-HD Master is Total Media Theater 3 (and higher). |
