A tad late, but have a collection of Christmas DTS CD's I've collected over the years on actual burnt CD discs. When I realized how many I was collecting, I starting to just store them on a large media server and use PC playback software.
Now I want to get the hard copy CD 'ripped' back to a file format.
What should I be creating and how?
I've tried ISO, BIN/CUE and WAV/CUE using all sorts of EAC, IMGBURN, ISOBUSTER, MAGICISO. And every time I try them in VLC 1.1.5 the player crashes. When I play some stuff off the server from a long time ago, they play just fine. Also the CD plays just fine in PowerDVD.
I've looked at the CUE files and they seem OK. Maybe the internal structure of the DTS WAV's are corrupt or something. But when I play them in WMP or MPC-HC, I get the nice expected hiss with no crashes.
I know I just had a recent birthday, but I didn't expect to loose as much knowledge as it seems I have.
I'm sure its something real simple, but a little direction is appreciated.
