I have six RAW wav files from a SACD digital rip from the album "Miles Davis – Kind of Blue". Normally I load all the mono files into an audio editor to generate a single 5.1 multichannel file. Each of these raw mono files are 24-bit 88.2kHz.
I decided to try AudioMuxer’s (v0.9.2.1) ‘Merge Mono-Wavs to Wav or Flac’ feature. After running the tool and picking the ‘Select Files’ button, I navigated to the folder where I’ve stored the 6 mono files and then picked all of these files:
WHOLE ALBUM_C.wav WHOLE ALBUM_FL.wav WHOLE ALBUM_FR.wav WHOLE ALBUM_LFE.wav WHOLE ALBUM_Ls.wav WHOLE ALBUM_Rs.wav
The tool seems to accept 4 files and it actually assigns them to the correct channel:
WHOLE ALBUM.wav | 4 Files -- L EMPTY -- R EMPTY -- C WHOLE ALBUM_C.wav -- Lfe WHOLE ALBUM_LFE.wav -- Ls WHOLE ALBUM_Ls.wav -- Rs WHOLE ALBUM_Rs.wav
However, for front left and front right, it brings up another dialog that lets me group them into another file. It will not let me group them with the other 4.
So now I end up with a group that shows L and R as empty and another group that shows C, Lfe, Ls and Rs as empty. There doesn’t seem to be any way to merge these together.
Otherfiles.wav | 2 Files -- L WHOLE ALBUM_FL.wav -- R WHOLE ALBUM_FR.wav -- C EMPTY -- Lfe EMPTY -- Ls EMPTY -- Rs EMPTY
Has anybody else tried this feature and can tell me what I’m doing wrong?
Thanks
