Important!!! This version of Spec uses a special version of Plogue Bidule (64bit). You MUST use PlogueBidule2.exe or the "P2" shortcut the Spec installer places on your desktop, or you will get a bunch of preset errors and red boxes.

8/4/14: Plogue Bidule installation behavior has changed. It no longer runs the program at the end of the install.

You will need to manually run Plogue Bidule at least once before running the Spec installer. Otherwise the Spec installer was ask you to install Plogue Bidule again and quit.

Spec package has been updated with new instructions and new install scripts to reflect the above.

7-4-2019 Spec and Installer, at top of thread, updated for 64bit versions of Plogue Bidule.

Plogue Bidule 32 bit support is now deprecated.

One effect of this is the Limiter VSTs had to be replaced. The "new" limiter VST, Sonic Anomoly's "Unlimited" is the same VST that will be used in an upcoming update to SpecWeb.

Another is that the 64 bit version of Plogue Bidule requires a CPU with AVX extensions. That shouldn't be a problem as any processor since 2011 (both Intel and AMD) have AVX extensions.

The current plogue installer only puts a shortcut for the x64, vs. the needed x64-64, exe on the desktop. We need the x64-64 version because that has the "discrete" signal types we use in SPEC's control logic to reduce the dsp load.

One other issue the the SPEC installer tries to get the limiter VST from its publishing website, which has been taken down by the author. I'll try to get around to updating the installer but in the meantime you can get it from my google drive here:

you can put it in C:\Program Files\Plogue\Bidule\VSTPlugins and then restart Plogue Bidule.
