me and others are talking right now in doom9 about eac3to and why some DTS encoders give dumb results.
(if you're interested in more details read the end of page 494 until page 495 of eac3to thread in doom9
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=125966&page=494 - start in post 9872)
what really happens:
Surcode put always 24 bits also when source wavs is 16 bits.
eac3to always "patches" the demuxed DTS to "24-bits"...he put the bits, are 'not so real bits' if you know what i mean then we have mascarades results ( !?!?!? )
in the other side DTS Pro Encoder can really encode 24b, this is why i did my request(i got one guide few hours ago showing how to do that and Surcode is not capable, i need to test)
i don't have good english to explain but eac3to could remove the 'bad binary' and the 'header' and 'footer' than do 24b 'repairs'.
err...
don't give high credits in my poor english, better read the pages in eac3to thread that i pointed.
i still don't got definitive answer telling why my decoder show 24b in some dvds, the doubt remains...i'm really curious and want to know how to do that.
the guide that i got few hours ago seems the answer...i'll try.
and yes, DTS Pro sounds a little better than surcode even in 16b, again i confirm!
cheers!
