Higher FFT sizes and overlap = more quality, but take longer in offline mode, and have higher DSP load in on-line mode. Overlap has more effect on time/load than size. 8192/16 is a good combination for high quality. |

OK so I am new here too and I just wanted a simple and free program to make my stereo WAV files into 5.1 WAV (or other format). I just want to take some songs and upmix them to surround, for free! I'm not an extreme nerd so I don't understand all this stuff. Why are there SO MANY STEPS and SO MANY PROGRAMS needed to just do one simple task? Why can't there just be one freeware program that takes 2.1 and makes it into 5.1 by putting the low bass frequencies in the sub channel, the left and right into front channels, both left and right combined into center with some ambience removed and all the ambience and put it in the rear channels? Thats pretty simple, I can easily do all those steps using Audacity but it takes too long, Im looking for batch upmixing, not all the complicated steps involved with this website. I cant beleive there is an entire website and forum about upmixing stereo! You guys are obsessed! Why not just some third party freeware app on some site with a few comments, not go overboard like you do here. Then you gotta pay 75 dollars to use one of the programs! WOW man, this is way too complicated. I apologize for sounding mean, so why not take this rant as constructive criticism and not ridicule. Sorry again, I am just confused. TyleR-DeaN |

Because we firmly believe that quality results requires this level of effort and complexity. |

I apologize if I came off as rude, I was a little skeptical at the time. I appreciate the hard work put into all this. |

where are your SPEC, ZPAN, and ZAG plugins? where is your peak compressor VST? Where can I get these? I am trying to convert my stereo files that I have made from LP's to Surround sound files. This appears to be what I need. SPEC421_ ZAG17_ZMon.rar [20.57 KiB] I down loaded it but it seems to be missing several items..... The spec 421 module Zpan Module Zag 1.7 Module Limiters Module ZMon Module LI RI Sync Recording Control and Delay There is a ZMon module that appears to be missing something under it. I have just started the project and am trying to find a program or programs that I can use to convert Stereo to 5.1 or 7.1 Surround Sound. Plogue and Bidules along with spec appears to be what I need, the only problem is that I can't seem to get all the pieces needed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Zeerround seems to be the person who originally posted about SPEC421_ ZAG17_ZMon.rar [20.57 KiB]. |
