@Dave1365,

OK here is how you can get it going (on your smaller screen):

1) Click on the windows start button and type: cmd in the "search windows and files" box, and hit return.

2) Right click in the top border of the cmd window and select "defaults"

3) Reduce the font size. Try smaller sizes until you don't get that error anymore in SpecWeb.

See page 73 of the SpecWeb 1.31 manual for screen shots (be sure to select "Defaults" NOT "Properties").

I set my screen to 800x600, to get the error, and set my font size to 8 (I think) to fix it. It was previously set to 14.

How old is your PC? SpecWeb uses SSE2 instructions and requires a CPU that supports those. CPUs manufactured since 2000 should have it.

I am having trouble getting spec web to create 6 mono channels. I used option -01 as you did and got a .mch file (as it also did when you showed me how to do it) What am I doing wrong?

Just used Specweb 1.4
There are still terrible distortions in the rears (with the default settings).
Starting with an upsample of the stereo to 24/176.4 and after the process downsample to 24/44.1 doesn't remove the artefacts !!
Can this be build into Specweb : https://sites.google.com/site/vstoversampler/home ?
And there is still a very big difference in loudness of the signals in the rears.
The left rear channel had a peak of -0.9 and RMS of -20, the right rear channel peak -5.3 and RMS -25.3 .
This leads to a song where you hardly notice the right rear channel and an unbalanced soundfield.
However measuring peak and RMS on the pair of rears , it fits the fronts.
So I get the impression something is not quite right yet ........
