Post at top of thread updated so the installer works with windows 8 (at least the Release Preview). FYI this meant I had to go get another computer to run windows 8. Donations always welcome |

I think I already talked about this in some thread here but the next big thing will probably be a version that doesn't need Plogue. It will be easier for beginners, MUCH faster, but somewhat less flexible. It will probably be shareware, vs. donationware, because the donationware thing isn't working (total of all donations comes nowhere close to what I need to spend on hardware and software to make/support SPEC). Oh, there exists a 7.1 version (7.1 channels vs. 5.1 channels) and with DTS-HD MA you can make 7.1 conversions that also playback in 5.1. That version might also be shareware, vs. donationware, however you can also use the current tools to make 7.1 by using a two pass process. |

No not dropped. Fully working in the lab. The only stuff remaining is the shareware licensing and distribution stuff. That's for the "without Plogue" version. It will have a web based user interface (Chrome, firefox, or iPhone/iPad). There's a minor upgrade for the Plogue version that should be out this week. Bug fixes mostly. Also I've been working on a version that works inside the VST version of Plogue. You still need a Plogue license, but it will let you run Spec inside media players (and other VST hosts). I'm testing foobar2000 and J River Media Center. Will probably try winamp as well. I would expect that in the next few weeks. |
