Common mistakes:

Installing the 64 bit version of Plouge. You don't want that. You want the 32 bit version, even if you are running a 64 bit OS. This is because 99% of the VSTs out there, AND the SPEC plugins are made for 32 bit only.

With manual installs, assuming that the SPEC dll files are VSTs, they are not, they are Plogue native plugins and go in a "plugins" folder.

It wasn't clear to me if Windows 7 is a base OS for you or virtual?

Also, I don't think this would cause the red boxes but the current version of Plogue Bidule is from July, not March.

I tend to use the latest features with each new SPEC release (Plus there are always bug fixes in Plogue releases) so you should always use the latest:

Live PC is no longer in use in SPEC.

The other Dlls you mentioned are also not in use and are "end of lifed".

Regarding freezing on start up, please try the following (covered in the videos):

1) stop all instances of bidule.

2) Start one instance but do not load SPEC, turn processing off (last button on the right at the top of bidule).

3) Go into the bidule preferences and set the following:

On the User Interface Tab:

uncheck "process at startup"

On the Disk I/O tab:

Use WAVEFORMATEXTNSIBLE: never

On the DSP tab:

Sample Rate: 44100
Buffer size: 512
FFT size: 4096 (for now, you can try increasing this after you get everything working)
FFT Overlap: 4 (for now, you can try increasing this after you get everything working)
Higher Precision FFT: Checked

Everything else unchecked.

apply those changes.

You should no be able to load SPEC. You will need to turn processing "on" (last button on the right at the top of bidule).

On last thing to check once you have loaded SPEC, on the bidule edit menu, make sure offline processing is unchecked (for live monitoring).
