My receiver is 7.2, gobs of hdmi inputs available. No spam.
You said above you can recommend a soundcard for around $30?

These are video cards, that support multi-channel digital audio via HDMI, are fanless, do not require additional power connections, and have windows 10 drivers:

As video cards, these are low end, but for day to day non-gaming use fine, but will only do 1080p over HDMI (vs. 3k or 4k, etc.) You should be able to drive a 1920x1200 monitor AND a 1080p hdmi monitor at the same time.

Forgot to talk about the 8 cores vs. fewer.

Plogue can only use one processor core at a time for the audio processing thread. This means that higher clock rate cores are more importantfor plogue throughput "offline" and ability to live monitor "online", than the number of cores.
