Step-by-step anyone? I've been messing with this thing all day and have come to the conclusion that I do not know what I am doing. I have a zipped FLAC of a 5.1 mix of Anathema's Weather Systems and I want to get it onto a DVD. I have Audiomuxer/IMGburn.

I've muxed the uncompressed FLAC into MKV and AVCHD with it creating an ISO. I then burn that image onto a DVD-R using IMGburn and can't seem to get anything to read it. My PS3 will read it as a Data Disc, but that's about all I can get.

Don't you need to encode it? DTS or Dolby, for DVD-V, or MLP for DVD-A?

I don't think DVDs can do 6 ch LPCM.

AVCHD, while on DVD media, would only work in a Blu-Ray player, yes?

I am trying to put in into AVCHD so that it can be played on a bluray player, namely my PS3.

Well I no experience with LPCM multichannel AVCHD. Only DTS. Perhaps someone else will respond.

I don't have a DTS encoder, so DTS won't work for me just yet.

OK, again, I'm not the expert on Audiomuxer, but I think that the codec id in the mkv file is probably wrong, and, if you are using flac, that probably won't work in any case.

I think that you need this codec id: A_PCM/INT/LIT, for linear PCM. By the way, this will require an HDMI connection from your PS-3. Optical won't work.

I suspect that you need to start with a wav file, vs. flac, You can use audiomuxer's audio conversion tool for that.

Load the wav file into audiomuxer and Mux to mkv. That will have the correct codec id and should play.

FYI, you can use VLC to play your mkv files (even if you don't have surround on your PC). This is just to check that you got that far correctly. It will even play the flac one you made, while I think only the ones made from wav will work on the PS-3 (once made into a AVCHD).
