Post subject:  Playing a DVDA disc ?

Hi,

I have a few DVD-A discs but my dvd player says no disk. My media center pc thinks it's blank. I do know the files are there and I can hear it on my laptop using VLC. My xbox 360, says it's decoding and my receiver's blue light is on and it says dolby 3/2.1 but I don't hear anything. Is it because there is no video at all, just audio?

Any help is much appreciated!

Thanks

When you say "DVD-A Disc," are you referring specifically to a DVD-Audio disc? DVD-Audio is a very specific format that will only play on dedicated players. A PS3 or Xbox360 will not play DVDA discs.

On your PC, Foobar does have a DVDA component which will enable you to play a DVDA disc.

This is the mess the industry created (again) with competing formats.
