updated for Foobar2000 since the DTS Decoder does not use the DSP Service anymore as of Foobar2000 version 1.1 Beta and therefore DTS-encoded files (DTS files or DTS in Wav files) will now play straight out-of-the-box when the DTS Decoder component is installed. |

Hi Everyone, I'm new around here and just trying to learn some of the info on the website which is great. So I'll probably pop up a lot with stupid questions. I'm trying to figure out how to play DTS.WAV files directly from my PC which is connected via an optical cable to an Onkyo Receiver capable to decoding DTS. I have AC3filter installed and the settings set to passthrough DTS and AC3 files. It works with a couple of .VOB videos encoded with DTS just fine but when playing a .wav encoded DTS music file it only goes through as PCM. I can burn to a cd and play through BD player and all is well and DTS however whats the problem with pass through from PC. Does it make a difference if it is 44.1 khz or 48 khz, because I encoded a flac file to dts and it was 48khz and that goes through the pc as dts? Thanks in advance. |

Yes your sound card must be capable of passthru at 44.1 Khz. Many consumer cards can only do this at 48Khz. |
