I think I have been able to use Bidule successfully - I have an AC3 file that plays as dolby digital but when I use batch file to change to AC3Wav the playback is garbled/static. Any suggestions as to what I have done wrong? |

For Murphman, here’s what happens; Step 2 Plogue creates a mch wave file – plays with foobar Step 3 The WAV to AC3 Encoder processes the Plogue file into a single AC3 file, plays fine with NERO software as Dolby Digital 5.1. Step 4 After placing the resultant AC3 file from above, into a separate folder along with the modified batch file, I run the batch file. I see the dos screen describing in/out, frames. This creates a _AC3.wav file. This file will not play (static) on my computer or on my DVD player – tried numerous times from step 2 thru step 4 Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks |

On the computer: - What player are you using? - NERO 9.0- it played the AC3 file well but not the _AC3.wav. I just tried it, the _AC3.wav, with windows media player and, after installing and adjusting the AC3 Filter Config utility, it now plays the _AC3.wav - NERO does not play the wav file but does play the AC# file Did you install ac3filter as mentioned in the guide? - I just did. Didn't think I needed because NERO was playing the AC3 w/o it - In the AC3 Filter Config utility, under the Main tab, did you set "Output format" to "3/2+SW 5.1 channels"? - Yes On the HT system: - Is the DVD player connected digitally (S/PDIF) to the receiver? - DVD player and receiver are one in the same After installing ac3filter & adjusting the AC3 Filter Config utility I burned the track with imgburn and is still static in the DVD/CD player, burnt with NERO static too |

@ Murphman: OK, so the computer is now working. What is the brand and model of your player/receiver? If the ac3wav CD solution does not work for you, you might want to try the guide. |

Thanks to all that have participated in the site - I've made a few dvd-a as suggested and they sound great. The batch files, the excel macros, etc are beyond my creative talents but I have been able to use them successfully. I wish I had more time to play. I have a few other questions that I'll hold on to until I read through more of the forum and perhaps find some already posted answers to my questions. Thanks again to all. Hopefully I can add something in the future. |
