Hi all,
This is my first post and this may already have been covered but after studying the guide
I realized I should be able do on the fly conversion without a second sound card, external decoder or anything more than was already in the system. The possibility of feeding Pandora One directly into SPEC/ArcTan upmix seemed like something fun.
So, I wrote up some instructions here:
Comments welcome.
Two additional things: System load. On my system (reasonably substantial) typically I see CPU load of ~7% associated with live conversion. I haven't bothered to turn anything off to reduce load. The only thing I have found necessary is to suspend World Community Grid from running while doing live conversion - WGC in concert with live upmix drives my system to 100% and creates jitter and artifacts. This is odd because measuring load of each individually combines to only 80% - can't figure that one out but it's a small issue. However, the bottom of the Plogue Screen shows around dsp:30.50 - not sure what this number actually represents.
Ticks and clicks. After a while clicks and ticks start presenting themselves in the output audio. A restart of Plogue remedies the issue - can't figure that one out either.
Cheers ... Phil Usher
