Thanks for the tips river, I'll have a play around and hopefully find something good for the conversion.

Thanks for tute Zeeround, seemed simple enough but I must be doing something wrong as Foobar is'nt just splitting the files individually, it's converting them to the Microsoft Wavetable format when wav is selected. Is there something I need to do to ensure it doesn't actually change the format but just splits it into individual files and leaves it as a DTS file. Thanks again for your help and time.

Hey Zeeround, never mind about Foobar mate. I found a really good and simple program that loads the cue and splits it without any conversion and creates another .cue & a .m3u file.

Here's the link: http://www.medieval.it/cuesplitter-pc/menu-id-71.html

Hey,

Just an update. I've completed converting the original trilogy soundtracks using SPEC and I've made all the relevant DTS files, based on your recommendations. I actually opted for Diagonal in the end as it sounded really good and puts you in the middle of the music .

I've just tried Audio Muxer to create a DVD for A New Hope with an output to DVD. I've sort of hit a wall as the .iso created outputs as LPCM 2 channels, but I put DTSWAV files into Audio Muxer with the 48khz standard. Have I missed something? I just tried playing it via pass through by both mounting the image and playing through The KM Player and by loading the VIDEO_TS file through WinDVD however no luck. I haven't burnt it to a dvd just yet as I figured it should still show up as a DTS audio file and mpeg2 video file in KM player similar to another couple that I have.

Thanks for any help :)

Just one point of clarification. Surcode has a CD only DTS encoder. So to do DVDs you can't use that one. They have others that do DVDs and other formats (including CD).

Thanks for the replies.

Sorry my files to clarify aren't DTSWAV they are just outputed as .wav. I put the original stereo as done through EAC at 44.1 khz through bidule and output as 48 khz mono wav files then Encode using Surcode DVD DTS encoder at 48 khz. They should be dvd compatible files and when played in their raw format are DTS 48khz 1536 mbp's files. I rename them .cpt and play them through DTS HD Stream Player to check for clipping and they play fine.

I'm not sure why they haven't been encoded correctly through Audiomuxer. My video output is PAL 16:9 and I haven't told audiomuxer to do anything different with the audio. Thanks for help and quick replies.

You can't just rename the files. The format is different. You need to tell Surcode to save in the .cpt format like this:

....and moreover DTS Padded files (coming from Surcode) are not directly compatible with DVD-Video. Better, as pointed out as well by Z, use the CPT format.
To "fix" these DTS Padded files, just go to Tools/Audio Conversion in AudioMuxer and click the "Select Files" button to load these files and you'll see that AudioMuxer will automatically convert them to a .fixed.dts file which is fully compatible with DVD-Video. For more information look at Remark 3 on page 17 of the .
