Subject says it all except, I am not intending to make DTS-CDs, so I don't need to resample my .dts to 44 kHz. dtswav @ 48kHz works fine for SPDIF playback from my computer to AVR. So I'm hoping there's a way to simply put the .dts file in a '2 channel' .wav container, so there's is no need to decode/re-encode, and no need to resample. Is this possible with Audiomuxer?

(The reason why I want to convert my .dts files to .dtswav is because I can convert .wav to .flac, then tag the files as I would any .flac file.)

We'll get the official answer from the audiomuxer author, but have you tried just renaming them to .wav?

That works with the output of surcode DTS encoder (@ 44.1 Khz anyway). The dts files ARE just wav files.

What are you using for playback?

Most of my .dts files were ripped from my collection of DVD-A discs. I doubt they are Surcode-made , but I'll give it a try.

(FWIW, DTS Pro Encoder, which is what I use to encode multichannel PCM, has an option of creating .dts *or* DTS .wav files. Does the Surcode encoder offer both options too?)

Yes, we'll wait for Ply4it's answer, but my gut feeling here is that you can't have 48khz DTS wavs.

It is not possible with AudioMuxer since this "trick" of encapsulating a 48kHz DTS stream in a Wav will not work on all hardware and that's why I have not implemented this.
However one forum member had hinted me a simple application that added that Wav header, but to be honest I do not find the reference anymore to that software. Maybe if that member would read this he can provide again the name of that application.

River161, I know for a fact that you *can* have 48 khz dts .wavs. I've made them -- from multichannel PCM files, using DTS Pro Encoder. You *can't* play them from a CD, but you *can* stream them from a hard drive. I just need to know how to make them from .dts files rather than PCM files.

Pl4yitLOUD , I hope that member does post, because I think that's all I need, is to add the WAV header.

Doesn't Besplit support this feature? It is a command-line utility. The command would be:

BeSplit -core( -input input.dts -output e:\output.wav -type dts -addriff )

I don't have a 48KHz dts file to test it. I also don't know if it works with a 32bit OS.

Edit: I suppose eac3to can also do this. The command would be

eac3to input.dts output.wav

Sadness...at first pass, the 48kHz .dts.wav files Audiomuxer generated for me, from .dts files as input, play as either white noise, or no sound, from foobar2k (via WASAPI to my laptops digital [SPDIF] output).

I'm going to double check that the 48kHz dts .wav I made previously, from 6-channel PCM files, work. If so, I'll have to start troubleshooting.
