Post subject:  Making Sure tracks are separated

When I go to do a compilation I take all my tracks and merge them in Goldwave then I run them Thru Plogue then I run them thru surcode...They are coming out one big wave file and not individual tracks on the cue sheet...Is there a step I am missing here? When I burn them to disc I get 1 long track and I cannot go to individual tracks...The mix is starting to sound good but now I have this problem!!!!! LOL...It is always something...

What are the proper steps to create a compilation cd?

First, you merge all the tracks into one long wav, but you need to create a cue file in the process. The easiest way is to put all your source tracks in the same folder, number them so they are in the proper order, and then follow the steps described in this wiki thread: . Personally, I would use Foobar to do this.

When you run the long wav through Plogue, use the trick described in this thread: . This will normalize the level of each track.

Run the long monos through Surcode. To burn on the CD (and access separate tracks), follow this wiki: .

You can do it!

I thought that was what I was doing, I use Goldwave to merge the tracks but the Bin file it creates says Binary. Is it not supposed to be wav(See second image) The cue file on the second image is made up of the converted DTS tracks....It is very confusing.. The last 2 cds I burned had no track separation in them...very strange..Plus my cue file is in Word not VLC..When I followed the guide for Foobar this is what I got...No names but tracks See first image

Thanks...I do not know how to tag them...Can you explain

How d o you get it to show the artist and track names...I am using individual tracks not one cd....I merged them all in Goldwave to make one large Wav file...That is the only way I know how to make a large wav file...If there is an easier way to make a large wav file with different tracks from different cds please tell me how to do it

Thank you...I was only really worrying about the Track names for those who download my mixes ...I don't even really need them at all...I cannot get my cue files to display any of the info yu have on yours..
