Hello all I was wondering how to go about normalizing a merge file I made in Goldwave that consists of 16 songs...Some are different volume levels..I was wondering if there is a specific program that will let you load a large file and adjust the volume levels accordingly( normalize)...I haven't had any luck in doing it on my own so I thought I would ask...These are songs from different sources that I want to make a compilation 5.1 mix out of....Thanks in advance Rck60s |

We have the solution. Create a cue file for your merged songs and run through SPEC as usual. With one modification to ZAG, we can switch it from Normalizing the combined surround ch volume to that of the original stereo (per track), to making the volume the same for every track. How? By replacing the original Stereo inputs to ZAG with something that puts out a constant level signal. Each track will get "normalized" to the same level. get the noise generator from: building blocks --> Oscillators --> Noise Several users have told me that this works great. |

Thank you ..I have included the layout I am using as It is different than the one you have shown...I still do not understand ZAG yet although I am trying...I cannot seem to find my way around in it......Can you indicate to me where I would put that feature on this layout? Do I need Zag processing in order for this method to work? By at 2010-04-24 |

I saw a very cool 10 minute video on all the steps needed to create a surround mix.It was a step by step tutorial that showed how to configure ZAG and they used a Tom Petty album as the demo....I cannot find that video again..Can someone please post the link...Thank you very much |
