Hello all, I am new to this software and forum. I have some Dolby TrueHD files with Dolby Atmos with the .mlp file extension and would like to output them as MKV, which I was told by some fellow engineers could be done with AudioMuxer. When I try load the .mlp file AudioMuxer does not even recognize the file. I know the file is good because I can play it with the Dolby Reference Player app. Any help would be appreciated. Full disclosure I am also not a Windows guy... |

You also need an ac3 version. The TrueHD (mlp) and the ac3 version need to be interleaved together. Audiomuxer will take that interleaved .thd+ac3 file. The interleaving can be done with eac3to. If you don't have an ac3 version from Dolby Media Encoder, one can be made from the mlp. I know ffmpeg can do it. I'll have to find my notes for all the details. |

Thank you for your response. I thought ac3 was a lossy codec which would defeat the purpose of converting the Dolby TrueHD mlp to mkv. |

The BlueRay spec requires that there be an ac3 version. It's OK to have both, but not TrueHD and no ac3 option. I'll post instructions in a bit. |

I am a bit confused, as I said I am new to Windows. Where do I find the UsEac3To guy? Is it in the Audiomuxer? |
