Just got the address of this forum from somebody on the net. I usually upload opera dvd's and classical cd's in flac format there. But I want to learn how to convert SACD's (DSD) to DVD-Audio. |

Welcome to the forum.. There are 2 methods to do what you want : 1- install a multichannel soundcard such as the M-Audio 1010 LT...using 6 cables you connect the card to the 6 spam outs of your player.. record the 6 mono waves into your PC - then check out the tutorial here on how to make a DVD-Audio disc - fairly straightforward 2- the other approach involves getting your SACD player modified to add SPDIF outputs - each one carries 2 mono tracks - you need 3 stereo cards and using the SPDIF inputs, record the 6 mono waves... same tools then to make the DVD-A disc.. Just a warning : the level that comes out of the SACD player is most of the time to high for the inputs of the soundcard. This can lead to too much distortion in the recording and can be fixed by putting a variable resistor on each cable...... (been there, done that  )

I use a 1010LT card as well. I'd think it would a simple matter to go into the M-Audio control panel and adjust the input levels to a suitable range for the SACD work and then change back when you're done. |
