Hello everyone, Briefly, I've been into surround music since 1972. I may be carbon-dated but never plan to fosselize. I'm one of the moderators at QuadraphonicQuad and have been following the upmix phenom closely in the past 12-18 months. This has been both rewarding and sometimes disappointing venture. I'm planning to offer some brief reviews of upmix albums to establish which ones are worth chasing down. My other motive is to get hands-on with the process to do some albums I've always wanted to experience in a surround setting. I'm a musician (bass, guitar, keys) and work in ACID, Vegas and SoundForge. Did make a test DVD-A last year of surround mixes of my material and want to continue work in that area. Tim (timbre4) |

Wandered off and got busy. Thanks for the interest, I do what I can. To quote Robyn Hitchcock "A man's got to know his limitations, Briggs". I'll post some links to the music I've developed, I've made a number of 5.1 mixes and a sample DVD-A to get my feet wet. |

There is life after an XP re-install. Just reviewed the wonderfully detailed documentation here and feel a little more confident about jumping into the processes in 2010. Success story will take some time as there are so many new particulars to become familiar with. Experience will build confidence and eventually some listenable results at some point. Seriously, the documentation looks superb. My compliments to the cooks. |
